Emergency contraception requests are prioritized. During working hours, most prescriptions are issued within 1-2 hours. After hours may take longer.
The 5-day option is more effective and works for longer (5 days vs 3 days). It's usually the preferred option unless contraindicated.
Your period may be slightly early or late after taking emergency contraception. If it's more than a week late, take a pregnancy test.
The 3-day option is preferred while breastfeeding. If you take the 5-day option, you should express and discard milk for 7 days.
